Weymouth Center decks halls Nov. 30-Dec.3

  • Wednesday, November 30:  Preview Party, 6-9pm, featuring a fine buffet, open bar, music, dancing and a tour of the 23 decorated rooms of this historic Georgian style home.  Reservations required, call (910) 692-6261.  Tickets are $60 per person, holiday attire, black-tie optional.

  • Thursday, December 1 through Saturday, December 3:  Self-guided tours of the house from 10am to 4pm daily.  This year’s theme for decorations by local garden clubs and designers is “The Gift of Family and Friends.” Tickets at the door $15, and tickets purchased in advance, $10. Weymouth’s music committee will furnish live performances in piano, vocals, flute, handbells, violin, and cello by a variety of musicians.

  • Thursday evening, December 1:  “Carols at Weymouth,” 5:30 and 7 p.m., carries on the tradition begun by Katharine Boyd when she would host an ever-increasing number of friends for an evening singing Christmas carols in front of a decorated tree and crackling fire.  Program of readings, music and caroling.  Admission is free, but space is limited, so don’t be late.

  • Friday, December 2:  Experience “Weymouth By Candlelight” after the  Pinehurst Christmas tree-lighting ceremony. A Candlelight Tour of the decorated house with wine and cheese is  7 to 9 pm, tickets are $25 per person and reservations are requested.  (910) 692-6261.

  • Saturday, December 3:  Children get their own special morning tour of the decorated rooms, and a chance to visit with Santa Claus from 8:30 to 10 am.  Tickets are $3 per child, with children under 3 admitted free.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Saturday, December 3: Come to Weymouth the last day of Christmas House tours, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
