The Sandhills Community College Horticultural Gardens will be the setting for the upcoming Fall Harvest Progressive Dinner on Sept 30.

The Sandhills Community College Horticultural Gardens are noted for their beauty and North Carolina barbecue is noted for its downright exceptional taste.  Combine the two on a soft, Southern, Carolina evening and you have a perfect combination!

Two years ago the Sandhills Horticultural Society hosted its first ever Dinner in the Gardens which was a huge success.  It was a magical evening that probably could never be duplicated, so this year the Society is hosting a Picnic in the Gardens.  Held once again under the stars in the beautiful SCC Horticultural Gardens, a sit down picnic supper will be an event not to be missed by residents of the Sandhills.

On Thursday, September 20 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., come enjoy a picnic supper catered by Pick N’ Pig and music for your listening and dancing pleasure by well-known local musician Glen Davis.  Festivities will be held at the Horticultural Gardens Ball Visitor Center grounds and Rosalie Terrace.  Come and enjoy another magical evening of good food and music in a beautiful garden setting.

Cost for the event is $30 per person for Sandhills Horticultural Society members and $35 for non-members.  Children 10 and under – tickets are $12.00 for members and $15.00 for non-members.   Part of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Landscape Gardening Department of the Sandhills Community College.

Some things just go together – as the Frank Sinatra song says, “Love and Marriage, Horse and Carriage”.   And for sure, a picnic at the Sandhills Community College Horticultural Gardens fits the definition.
