Crossing of America Tour rolls into Victory Junction Aug. 18
Honor Military Heroes as they continue their journey across the country. The Spirit of Liberty Jeeps from the Crossing of America Tour will be making their way from Charlotte to Raleigh on Thursday August 18 and make a stop at Victory Junction Gang Camp, a camp for chronically ill children and host to service men and women and their families.
The camp will welcome the heroes at 9 a.m. as they continue their travels and welcome all that would like to come out for the event.
The Crossing of America Tour (www.crossingofamerica.org) began Friday, May 27, 2011 at the start of Memorial Day Weekend, from the deck of the USS Midway in San Diego, CA and will cover roughly 12,700 miles before arriving at the USS Intrepid Aircraft Carrier in New York City on September 8, 2011 to commemorate the solemn tenth anniversary of 9/11/01.
Crossing of America hosted by The Spirit of Liberty Foundation and TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) was created to raise awareness and funding for America’s Heroes our Armed Forces; specifically our Wounded Warriors, their families and the families of Fallen Heroes.
The Crossing of America will take 105 days through 43 states and will be passing through many communities. The nationwide tour will make scheduled stops in cities across America, holding local celebrations in order to generate awareness and funding to help support America’s Wounded Warriors and the Families of our Fallen Heroes.
